How it’s Made – Traditional Japanese Metalworks – Niigata Vlog
A few weeks ago, I went to Niigata, Japan to help film some videos for my company’s new website that showcases Japanese traditional crafts. The shop Seigado have many artisans that specialize in tsuiki which is a type of bronze ware. I was lucky enough to see how it’s made, and got to talk to the main artisan at the workshop.
Tsuiki is pretty famous in Niigata, and the products have been gaining popularity for their unique shape and colorful designs.
The website Made By Japan is a really interesting project we’ve started working on where people can find hard to find/ship Japanese goods. I’ve been helping with the filming of a lot of the products and how they are made. We are actually going to be going to see how katana’s are made very soon.
